Message It's not that they need back pressure as a rule, but I think that when they have been used for so long in the backpressure environment of the precats, they "get used" to it. Now, they are introduced to a lot less backpressure and start to fail.

Again, this theory is based on the age and condition of the seals. It's not a general rule. I have had zero trouble with mine since installing down and test pipes.
